We believe it is our responsibility to not only create the right safety products, but to also raise awareness of dangers through our educational campaigns to communities, alongside promoting best practice through our installer programme. In terms of education, we are also proud to work with schools, colleges and universities to create opportunities for the next generation to share our vision.
Effective protection relies on having the best alarms correctly installed. So the free Expert Installer training scheme from Aico is designed to educate and make sure Electrical Contractors have all the information they need to install domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Systems.
Our Expert Installer training scheme is FIA CPD accredited, allowing you to earn 1 hour of CPD time. We also have a selection of additional modules designed to complement Expert Installer, available on request. To find out more visit our ‘Become an Installer’ part of our website.
Our Resident Safety Campaign in partnership with Inside Housing raises Carbon Monoxide awareness, property access for residents and resident safety in a supported environment.
Other ongoing campaigns are ‘Alarms Save Lives’ and ‘Why Would You Risk It?’, highlighting the risks of Carbon Monoxide and the importance of having a Carbon Monoxide Alarm.
We also work with Schools, Colleges and Universities to educate and promote fire safety through fire safety awareness sessions at our Centre of Excellence.
Be Part of our Story. Our Apprenticeship Scheme offers a structured and flexible approach to Apprenticeships ensuring that we provide our Apprentices with the right support and environment for learning. The Aico Apprenticeship programme runs all year round and offers a variety of roles.
Working in partnership with the EDA helps educate our Apprentices further through additional learning with the EDA modules such as Customer Services and Fire Safety and Security Systems.
We have hosted several Fire and Carbon Monoxide Industry Forums all over the UK to help and educate our customers with the latest changes to the Scottish legislation and BS 5839-6:2019+A1:2020.
We attend many Careers events and Enterprise days throughout the Year, supporting students with interview techniques, writing CVs and work experience.
We offer the use of our facilities for educational bodies to use for their events. To find out more contact sustainability@aico.co.uk
