My name is Dan McKay and I am one of the newest members of the Operations Team, joining Aico in July 2020.

Many people think that the main role of the Operations team is to pick and pack orders that are processed by our Internal Sales Team, but so much more is involved in the role…
The job of an Operations Team member can vary from day to day, although our end goal is the same – to ensure our customers have what they need to make their homes safer.
Tasks include:
Picking orders,
Packing orders,
Unloading deliveries,
Dealing with returned goods… among many other tasks.
————————————————————
The orders we receive can vary from a single item to multiple pallets. We can complete up to 300 orders and pack over 700 boxes in a day, which can add up to over 40 pallets!
Every order is checked twice by 2 members of staff to maintain high levels of accuracy, which is our main KPI. We always strive for 100% accuracy.
The Operations Team is seen as the heart of Aico, with every member of the team being trained in every aspect of the job role to ensure that the cogs keep turning.

Being part of the Aico family also means having the opportunity to give back to the community. This is through our CSR days, such as supporting Shrewsbury Food Hub and Lingen Davies Cancer Fund at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This has been incredibly rewarding and has enabled me to get to know my fellow colleagues. Being new to the team, I have had a lot to learn but everyone has shared their knowledge and have always been supportive.

I’m proud to be part of a company that brings lifesaving equipment into people’s homes and cares about giving back to the community.
