It’s been quite the week at Aico HQ as we’ve been busy preparing the very first episode of Aico TV – and as a co-host of episode 1, I can safely say that we have an action-packed episode in store for you.
So, as they say in show business: lights… camera… action!
Alongside my co-host, Alex Garmston, we welcome you to Aico TV and showcase what’s coming up in the next hour; and the first episode is all things Aico! We feature everything from entertaining news and interviews, to FAQs and special guests – all filmed at our very own studio.
Episode 1 begins with a history of Aico with Steve Trafford, our National Sales Director. With Steve recently celebrating his 20 years’ service, who better to guide us through Aico’s journey? He really has seen it all, from humble beginnings to becoming the UK market leader in Fire and Carbon Monoxide protection. Steve guides us through Aico’s timeline of products and explains the innovations and technological advances we have embraced along the way.
In the next feature, we give you an insight into our training and development programme. Our Managing Director, Neal Hooper, is joined by special guests, Carl Jones from Shropshire Business Live TV and Roy Amyes, Coaching and Personal Development Consultant. We look at the importance of training and development within Aico and how it has empowered us to create our core values, shaping the team we are today. As a new member of the Aico team, it was great to hear first-hand about how our training and development programme evolved.
Next, Alex takes the opportunity to speak to our Community Liaisons, Jane Pritchard and Lily Ellis. They discuss Aico in the Community and our volunteering activities with OsNosh – a local community interest company dedicated to reducing food waste and turning spare food into free meals for those in need. This leads nicely into some great footage filmed by our National Sales Manager, Daniel Little, during his recent volunteering day at OsNosh. He assisted the team by collecting leftover food from supermarkets, cooking, and delivering freshly prepared meals to people in the local area.
In the wake of International Women’s Day, it was my pleasure to introduce Tina Mistry, Rachel Wright, Julie Weaving and Kelly Hodgetts – all key members of our management team. They share their experiences as women working in a male-dominated industry and the challenges they have overcome. It was inspiring to hear stories about how my colleagues’ drive, determination and confidence has helped them to become so successful within the electrical industry.
The episode concludes with an FAQ session with one of our Technical Advisors, Dave Jennings – after 25 years at Aico, he knows everything there is to know about our alarms! We take a look at one of your most popular questions: How do I test my alarm? Dave guides us through the simple process of alarm testing and explains everything you need to know.
So, what goes on behind the scenes?! Of course, there were lots of laughs and lots of bloopers, but it was great to work with my colleagues on a new, exciting project while we learnt new skills along the way!
If you’re yet to watch episode 1 of Aico TV, catch-up here – we can’t wait for you to see it! Please subscribe to catch weekly episodes airing every Thursday afternoon at 2pm.
