Hello, it’s me again, your favourite co-host of Aico TV (just kidding, Alex!), here to tell you all about Episode 12.
We initially filmed from our lovely relaxation room but due to a minor technical hitch, Alex and I had to re-record our sections of the show in the studio later in the week… but hey, that’s show business! It just means there is still some of Aico HQ left to show you, and we can look forward to continuing the grand tour in a future episode.
If you tune in every week, you may have noticed an increasing number of clips where I am in uncontrollable laughter are finding their way into the final edits. Behind the scenes, Alex and Matt have started a very funny game, where they refuse to pause the film when I mess up my lines – all in the hope that I will pull myself together. So far, it’s not been a very successful tactic, but it does provide some entertainment!
So now you have an insight into the backstage tomfoolery, let’s see what’s coming up in the episode.
We begin the episode with some exciting news! We recently achieved a double-award win at the Electrical Wholesaler Awards for Best Training Provider and Best Customer Service: Brand. We are really pleased with the results and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us – we couldn’t have done it without your support!
Our Regional Specification Managers, Paul Barrett and Adam Burch host the first session of the episode. Together they delve into the problems caused by mould and condensation, discussing how it can affect properties and how technology could be the answer to preventing these issues. Later in the episode, we see Paul on-site at Saxon Weald Housing Association with Electrical Manager, John Winstanley. We get to hear first-hand about how Saxon Weald have dealt with mould and condensation within their housing stock.
Next, we return to the Smart Home mini-series with National Sales Manager, Daniel Little and HomeLINK’s Luke Loveridge. During Part 2, we have the opportunity to speak to Alison Wallace, Senior Research Fellow in Centre of Housing Policy, University of York and Maria Horne, Associate Professor at School of Healthcare, University of Leeds. Alison and Maria speak about their research roles and how they have been involved in the Smart Home project with Leeds City Council.
We move on to the third part of the episode with our Operations Manager, Lee Duffy, and Darren Edwards, Conference Manager of Tech Severn. Tech Severn 2021 will explore the crucial role technological innovation has to play in our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve ‘net-zero’, drive a new generation of global sustainability, mitigate the impacts of climate change and much more! Aico is the proud headline sponsor of the upcoming conference, so Lee and Darren discuss the event and what we can expect to see on the 16th and 17th June. Click here to learn more and book tickets.
Now it’s time for this week’s FAQ! Our Technical Advisor, Indre, explores how to identify which alarm in your home is triggering the system.
