Places for People Upskills Electrical Team with Aico

Places for People is a property development and management company that focuses on creating thriving communities. Their in-house electrical team recently participated in a comprehensive training programme at Aico’s Centre of Excellence in Oswestry. The programme was centred on the City and Guilds Domestic Fire and CO Alarm Systems Certification (AA2426-01). This course, designed to enhance theoretical and practical understanding, covered crucial aspects including, standards and regulations, system design, fire risk assessments, sensor types, alarm siting, and testing and maintenance.

Aico alarms are a standard feature across Places for People properties. Although all of their engineers are trained in Aico’s FIA CPD Expert Installer course, there was a notable demand for a deeper knowledge and understanding regarding fire safety and carbon monoxide (CO) requirements. This demand stems from the prominent role that fire safety and CO alarm systems play in the daily responsibilities of the installers.

To address this need, Aico’s team collaborated closely with Places Management Training. Through a series of meetings aimed at understanding the specific requirements of the Places for People team, Aico scheduled multiple training sessions to provide thorough instruction to the entire installation team.

Jenni from Places Management Training spearheaded the coordination efforts and reported positive participant feedback, with herself noting, “It’s been a smooth, accommodating service, and we couldn’t ask for more as a company.
