As part of Aico’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) the company has actively sought to support projects nationwide and overseas. Brought to light and recommended by our Regional Specification Manager, Steve Bulley. Steve states “this is a fantastic, unique project and something which really could benefit from our alarm systems”. Help Bristol’s Homeless is a non-profit social enterprise with the mission to provide a range of help and support for those less fortunate in the face of Bristol’s growing homeless problem. A key aspect of this enterprise has been the temporary accommodation constructed and provided by the charity, through the hard work of the directors, staff and volunteers. Help Bristol’s Homeless renovates old shipping containers into “micro flats” giving users up to four months to “get their feet off the ground” with the added support of the charity. Turning heads and making news headlines, Aico knew this was a charity to support and contacted the founder to offer support.
Aico contacted founder Jasper Thomas with the offer to provide smoke, heat and CO alarms. On Monday 1st October, Steve Bulley, Regional Specification Manager for Aico, met with Jasper to deliver the alarms. Jasper commented saying “donations like this make this project as successful as it has been. These alarms will provide the added life safety that is at the forefront of our project”.
Looking to the future, Aico has committed to provide a group of employees to volunteer their time to give continued support for Help Bristol’s Homeless.
