Aico have donated a total of sixteen male and female homeless packs to Help Bristol’s Homeless. Aico have been working with the charity since the summer of 2018 to support the charity and to help raise awareness of the work that they do. Previously, Aico donated Fire Alarms to the charity’s micro-flat project.
Jane Pritchard, Community Liaison for Aico in the Community, further linked in with Jasper from Help Bristol’s Homeless to work with Aico staff to produce packs for the Winter. The appeal saw departments within Aico team up to create complete packs. Included in the packs are; a rucksack, a sleeping bag, a hat, gloves, a scarf, underwear, warm socks, a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, tissues and other essentials.
Steve Bulley, Regional Specification Manager for the South West area, who is working with Jane and Jasper comments “Homelessness is a cause I’ve always felt strongly about. Having spent a lot of time in Bristol over the last ten years I’m extremely aware of the massive problem of homelessness in the city, so to be able to help is great and it makes me feel very proud to work for an organisation that is willing to support initiatives such as this. I’d like to personally thank Jane from the Aico in the Community Team and Laura who organised the packs, our Marketing Manager Jo White and our Managing Director, Neal Hooper, for all of their support. I would also like to say a big thank you to all of our colleagues that contributed financially towards the packs.”
