Baby for a Day

Ever wondered what it would like to be a baby for a day, well Aico recently put that to the test in support of their charity of the year, Little Stars Baby Bank.

Aico hosted a baby-themed fundraising day where colleagues dressed in their most adorable baby attire, which saw adult nappies, bibs, and a lot of dummies.

Little Stars Baby Bank is a Shrewsbury-based charity supporting mothers in need of essential baby items and to date, the charity has supported over 100 families and issued over 4,500 baby bundles.

As part of their charity of year partnership with Aico, Little Stars is utilising storage at the Aico head office free of charge, giving the charity plenty of space to store more donated items and increase the amount of pre-loved bundles being sent out to families in need of them.

Leanne Simcoe, Founder, and Trustee of Little Stars Baby Bank was delighted with the first fundraising event for Little Stars and the support given by Aico. Leanne stated ” I loved seeing the Aico staff be inspired by the charity and come dressed as babies for their office fundraiser! The support they give the charity is amazing and I can’t wait for more fun-filled fundraising through our partnership this year.”

Babies are sometimes mischievous and the colleagues at Aico lived up to that as various activities took place during the day including a baby dash, which involved an obstacle course with various routes to crawl under and over, with a prize for the winner which was a sweet bouquet from Shlurp! Forever yours Florist based in Oswestry who kindly donated time and sweets once hearing about our fundraising day. The baby dash wasn’t the only fun to be had as the Guess the Baby quiz brought a lot of laughs around the Aico office.

Daniel McKay, member of the community team at Aico and organiser of the fundraising day commented “It was great to support Little Stars Baby Bank with a Baby Office Fundraising Day! Everyone got involved with the weird and wonderful activities and provided some adorable baby photos for people to guess. I am looking forward to supporting Little Stars more this year!”

Overall, Aico raised over £10,500 in total for the Little Stars Baby Bank Charity, which will help continue the amazing work the charity does in supporting the local communities and families.
