On Friday 10th September, Aico, the European Market Leader in Home Life Safety, celebrated the annual EIC Day and raised £1,327 for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) and the essential work they do for the electrical sector.
The EIC exists to support people and their families from the electrical sector with issues ranging from relationship and financial worries to mental health problems and disability.
Every year on the 10th September, Aico celebrate EIC Day, which marks the inauguration of the charity and celebrates everything they have achieved since their creation in 1905. The EIC asks all industry members to come together and raise funds to help the charity continue for many more years to come.
Aico colleagues arranged an ‘Aico at the Movies’ fundraising day with a selection of activities, including film trivia, movie character fancy dress, and recreating iconic movie scenes with ‘Oscar’ style awards given to everyone who participated.
Jane Pritchard, Community Liaison for Aico commented “Back in 2018, the EIC was Aico’s Charity of the Year and we have continued to give extensive support to the charity since then. We see the EIC as our charity, offering a wide range of support services to all of us within the electrical sector. We understand how important and vital their support is, not only to help those within our industry physically and financially, but also our mental and emotional wellbeing. Being able to organise fundraising days, in support of the EIC is a great opportunity for all of our colleagues at Aico to give something back to the charity. We make sure our fundraising initiatives are fun and inclusive of all colleagues, encouraging everyone to get involved and of course everyone does. This really helps to boost donations and ultimately the money we are able to raise.”
Finance Clerk, Nicola Jones who dressed up as Cruella de Vil from the well-known Disney classic, 101 Dalmatians, said “What a brilliant afternoon we all had at Aico doing ‘Aico at the Movies’. We were all acting out movie characters and showing our Oscar-winning acting skills! Everyone had a great time and knowing we were all raising money for the fantastic Electrical Industries Charity made an afternoon to remember.”
