Staff from Oswestry based company, Aico, have signed up to multiple fundraising challenges and are organising a series of events, throughout 2019, to raise money for their Charity of the Year, Macmillan Cancer Support.
The challenges and events include a twenty-six mile walk along the Jurassic Coast in Weymouth, The Whitchurch 10k, Oswestry 10k, Ludlow Cycling Festival, Shrewsbury Coracle Race, Oswestry Midnight Ride, Race Night and large coffee morning which will take place in the company’s new Headquarters in November.
Aico are also working in collaboration with various local businesses to sponsor the Oswestry 10k and Midnight Ride, working alongside organiser Alan Lewis.
Alex Garmston, Marketing Executive for Aico, who is also taking part in the twenty-six mile walk and the Oswestry 10K run comments “I have never walked over 10 miles or run a 10K, however I am looking forward to challenging myself and raising money and awareness for a charity which holds great significance for me. Training is going to be vital and we are supporting each other as a team to get each other across the finishing line”.
Kate Thomas, Shropshire Fundraising Manager said, “I will be supporting everyone taking part in the challenges and events throughout the year and cannot wait to see them complete their challenges, this team will spend the next six to eight months training and therefore this has shown amazing commitment towards raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
