Aico, a market leader in domestic Smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarms, has recently obtained the planning permission for its new 3 storey headquarters in Oswestry, based on the A483 near the Maesbury Road Junction.
Aico currently employs thirty four office and warehouse staff at its base on the Mile End Business Park and twenty one field-based staff and are currently seeking a number of apprentices to start in September.
The new premises will include office space, a training centre, an auditorium, warehouse facilities, a passenger lift to provide full accessibility throughout the building along with more than 80 car parking and wheelchair access spaces.
A picturesque landscape scheme has been developed to maximise use of the undeveloped areas of the site and incorporate a ‘trim trail’ and outside areas that can be enjoyed by staff and visitors alike for recreation and exercise. The pond will be an all-year water feature providing a natural wildlife habitat, surrounded by a wildflower meadow.
The report from the company’s architect, DGA, says: “The site will provide an excellent location and new home for Aico”
Managing Director, Neal Hooper commented “After being at our current premises for over 20 years and having undergone two extensions for our Centre of Excellence, we have outgrown our current space. We are excited that our new bigger site will not only allow us to grow as a business, but this growth will also bring new job opportunities to the local community of Oswestry.”
