Aico, the market leader in domestic Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms are celebrating after picking up the Best Training Provider Award at the 2018 Electrical Wholesaler Awards.
The awards were held at London’s Tower Hotel on 10th May and brought together the best in the industry to celebrate the outstanding achievements of electrical wholesalers and manufacturers. After a rigorous decision-making process – which saw a panel of experts carefully review entries and industry professionals pledge their support through an online vote, Aico were awarded the Best Training Provider accolade and were highly commended in the Best Overall Supplier category.
Over the last year Aico have trained 5,500 people across the industry and worked with electrical wholesalers to train both their staff and customers on the importance of Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms. Aico’s commitment to training can be seen in the investment they have made, launching three Mobile Training Units that travel the UK, bringing training to customers doorsteps.
Michael Wright, Aico’s Marketing and Product Development Manager explains why this award is so important to Aico. ‘Training has been at the heart of what we do for so many years. We first launched our training scheme in 2009 and since then have trained over 17,500 people. Fire and Carbon Monoxide alarms are lifesaving equipment, so whilst we are working hard to develop and manufacture quality products, it is equally important that we provide training on the correct installation and maintenance of alarms, so that they are able to give the lifesaving detection once inside a property.’
