Each year, staff at Aico are asked to nominate a charity of their choice for the company to donate to. This year, a substantial £70,000 was set aside for our festive donations.
Here at Aico, we all love this initiative. It is our chance to give back to a charity that will make a difference at Christmas time. The best part is that we re-nominate each year, this means that if we, or our family and friends experience anything through the year, we get to give back in the same year to a charity that is close to our hearts.
The charities nominated vary massively from your large, well known ones such as Help for Heroes, to local charities such as the Movement Centre in Gobowen, Shropshire which helps children with disabilities learn movement skills.
The team are all very keen to raise money for charity and are well-known for our love of fancy dress and activity days in the office to support a great cause! However, the £70,000 in donations have been donated on top of the £28,620 already raised throughout the year by these various fundraising days.
You can take a look at all of our Corporate Social Responsibility activities on our CSR page, which not only cover charitable donations but also include volunteering opportunities that we have taken up and what we are taking part in to support education in our local community. We will be announcing our charity of the year for 2019 in January so keep an eye out!
If you are an organisation that could benefit from our support in 2019, please do not hesitate to get in touch via community@aico.co.uk or call Jo White, Emma Ferguson, Dave Jennings or Jane Pritchard on 01691 664100.
